  • Profile picture of Amir a. Nejad
    Amir a. Nejad

Amir a Nejad strives to breathe fresh life into realist painting by combining classical ideals within the context of his own life and surroundings. His paintings have elements of decades past, but are firmly grounded in present day. Often painting his friends within the confines of his home, we are allowed a voyeuristic glance into his world as he reveals his efforts to capture the fleeting beauty of modern life.

  • Profile picture of Kat Ridgway
    Kat Ridgway

Do the tactile pleasures of cloth and fibre provide an antidote to the lack of haptic stimulations in an increasingly digitised image-saturated reality? Kat Ridgway examines authenticity of identity while considering an understanding of gender politics. Advocating women using materials and processes that reflect awareness to the cross-over between Fine Art and Craft, Ridgway uses her position to regard self and the inconspicuous female.

    Cerys Thomas-Ford

Working mainly in performance and text, my work explores themes of nostalgia, loss, desire and the idealisation of the unattainable. I create an ambiguous space between fiction and reality, utilising ephemeral acts and materials to construct equally tenuous narratives where truth and reality are a slant told tale and fact and fiction are never autonomous.

    Sue Evans

Sue Evans is an illustrator based in Swansea South Wales. After illustrating for many years she returned to UWTSD to explore a master’s degree in Visual Communication and graduated last year with a distinction. Specialising in children's book illustration and particularly the function of word and image to communicate and story tell, she is passionate about keeping the art of storytelling and illustration alive. The images she creates are joyful, colourful, magical landscapes that encourage the flow of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Sue constantly has a pencil in her hand, or popped through her ponytail, ready for her next creative adventure. Home, love, nurture and understanding are key aspects of the creative work Sue produces at Elyisum studios situated in the heart of her beloved Swansea. Through her work she loves to communicate stories of travel, home, acceptance, the wonders of Wales and the world with passers-by.
